American Airlines has quietly loaded six routes out of its Miami (MIA) hub, all of which will offer customers in these cities more extensive access to South Florida and potentially onward connections to Latin America and the Caribbean.

As international and long-haul demand in certain regions continue to lag behind the recovery of domestic leisure demand, airlines are continuing to adjust their schedules. Typically, Florida sees an increase in flights during the winter. American Airlines is continuing this trend with the addition of six routes from Miami.

These five seasonal routes from Miami begin on November 6, 2021 and operate on Saturdays with the Embraer 175:

- Albany, New York (ALB)
- Burlington, Vermont (BTV)
- Madison, Wisconsin (MSN)
- Syracuse, New York (SYR)
- Tulsa, Oklahoma (TUL)

Currently, these routes are set to operate through April 2, 2022.

Three of these cities - Burlington, Syracuse, and Tulsa - have recently seen expanded flying with American Airlines. The airline recently added nonstop service from Dallas/Fort Worth to Burlington and Syracuse along with Austin to Tulsa.

American Airlines previously operated two one-off Miami to Syracuse flights in February with an Airbus A321. This winter, American will establish a more "regular" link between Miami and Syracuse.

In addition to these five routes, American will add daily service between Miami and Salt Lake City, Utah (SLC) starting December 16, 2021. Flights will operate through April 4, 2022 using the Boeing 737-800.

This is technically a resumption for American Airlines as the carrier last served the MIA-SLC route in early 2018 according to wandr.me/bts. American will go head-on against Delta's own SLC-MIA route which launched several months ago.

Additionally, as a bit of extra information, American appears to have loaded two more daily Miami to Austin (AUS) flights today. This was previously announced, however, it looks like it was a new change (aircraft swap?) since the seat map/fares on aa.com deviate from the other MIA-AUS flights. With this, American will operate 5x daily Boeing 737 MAX 8 flights between Miami and Austin this winter.

Note: As of publication, American has not formally announced these new routes or changes. The information in this article is based off of American Airlines' bookings, which reflect the carrier's expected plans for flying.
