Breeze Airways is continuing to fine-tune its network following its recent addition of two new destinations.

Breeze Airways commenced passenger flights nearly seven months ago. For the first several months, Breeze reduced and cut several routes. The carrier made the decision to reduce one-third of its network early-on and later removed five routes, including point-to-point ones connecting San Antonio with both Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Following these cuts, Breeze Airways is continuing to adjust its network but several routes are now seeing additional frequencies.

Less than two weeks ago, Breeze Airways announced two new destinations - Islip, New York (ISP) and West Palm Beach, Florida (PBI) - marking its first destinations added since its launch.

Breeze announced flights from Islip to its Charleston (CHS) and Norfolk (ORF) bases with two and four weekly flights respectively. Based on what I have found in Breeze's schedule, the airline has now added a third weekly flight to its Charleston route which goes into effect when the route launches in February.

This new Wednesday frequency for ISP-CHS will be operated with the Embraer 195, a slightly larger aircraft compared to the Embraer 190 set to operate the two existing frequencies.

In addition to this route, three other routes will gain an additional frequency on Wednesday:

  • New Orleans (MSY) to Charleston (CHS) increases from 4x to 5x weekly starting February 16, 2022
  • New Orleans (MSY) to Richmond (RIC) increases 4x to 5x weekly starting February 16, 2022
  • Tampa (TPA) to Charleston (CHS) increases 4x to 5x weekly starting February 23, 2022

While these routes see increases, eight other routes will either be suspended or reduced during January but are scheduled to resume or return to regular frequencies in February.

From January 4 through the first few days of February, Breeze Airways will suspend the following three routes:

  • Charleston (CHS) to Louisville (SDF)
  • Norfolk (ORF) to Columbus (CMH)
  • Norfolk (ORF) to Pittsburgh (PIT)

The following five routes will be reduced from 4x weekly to 2x weekly during the same period:

  • Columbus (CMH) to Hartford (BDL)
  • Norfolk (ORF) to Hartford (BDL)
  • Norfolk (ORF) to Providence (PVD)
  • Pittsburgh (PIT) to Hartford (BDL)
  • Pittsburgh to (PIT) to Providence (PVD)

More adjustments to Breeze's routes will be likely in the near future as the airline continues to evaluate its network.

Although the majority of these changes and past adjustments do not portray the route network positively, Breeze Airways will soon be expanding with new destinations and its first Airbus A220-300 routes which are expected to be announced in February.
