Icelandic startup airline PLAY has revealed its first seven routes from Reykjavik (KEF) and is currently starting to sell tickets for its flights.

PLAY, a new low-cost carrier in Iceland, is ready to launch. Built upon several employees from the bankrupt WOW Air, PLAY will offer travelers more options when flying to and from Iceland this summer.

The airline recently received its Air Operators Certificate and signed a lease with AerCap for several Airbus A321neo aircraft. This morning, PLAY officially revealed its first destinations in Europe.

At the time of publication, PLAY is starting to open reservations for its flights.

First Seven Destinations from Reykjavik (KEF):

- Alicante, Spain (ALC) - Barcelona, Spain (BCN) - Berlin, Germany (BER) - Copenhagen, Denmark (CPH) - London Stansted, United Kingdom (STN) - Paris, France (CDG) - Tenerife, Spain (TFS) Reykjavik to London Stansted is set to be the first route, inaugurating on June 24. PLAY's flights appear to be operated with the code "OG".
PLAY's intention is to function as a low-cost alternative for customers traveling to and from Iceland. PLAY intends to eventually begin flying to North America. The CEO of PLAY, Mr. Birgir Jónsson, says, "We have the best people who have shown tremendous strength over a period of almost two years.
