American Airlines is continuing to show confidence in the U.S. to India market with more flights. Two months ago, the airline announced it would launch nonstop service between New York (JFK) and New Delhi (DEL) on October 31 with the following frequencies:
- From October 31 to November 17: 3x weekly flights
- From November 17 through January 1: 1x daily flights ("holiday peak season")
- From January 2 through the end of the schedule: 3x weekly flights
Instead of operating 3x weekly flights outside of the peak season, American will now operate the New York to New Delhi route daily through its entire schedule. This is according to the schedule update on Saturday night. American Airlines still plans to operate the 273-seat Boeing 777-200ER on JFK-DEL.
From October 31, American Airlines has now scheduled a total of 14 weekly flights to India, consisting of 7 weekly JFK-DEL and 7 weekly Seattle to Bangalore flights.
American's latest increase on its New York to New Delhi route represents its dedication to growing out of the Northeast as part of its JetBlue partnership. In the past year, American has added other long-haul destinations out of JFK including Tel Aviv, Athens, and Santiago.
