KLM Royal Dutch Airlines hasn't given up on Austin, Texas yet. The SkyTeam carrier has now opened reservations for its new Amsterdam (AMS) to Austin (AUS) route which is set to inaugurate in March 2022.
In September 2019, KLM announced it would commence flights to Austin beginning in May 2020 with its Airbus A330-300s. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, KLM decided to postpone its Amsterdam to Austin route to March 2021 and replace the A330-300 with the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. Although, months later, KLM completely removed its nonstop flights to Austin, placing the new route in question.
Some time this past week, KLM made it clear they still plan to launch flights to the Texas capital. Starting March 28, 2022, KLM will initiate its Amsterdam to Austin route using the Airbus A330-300. The schedule remains the same as before:

Despite the pandemic, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport continues to see new carriers and routes. Hawaiian Airlines recently commenced its new service from Honolulu to Austin. American Airlines has added new destinations out of Austin, such as Aspen and Nassau. VivaAerobus just added flights to Austin, which marks its return to AUS after 12 years.
Assuming KLM's Amsterdam to Austin route launches, Austin Airport will have service to three European destinations by the end of March 2022:
As always, these details are subject to change, especially with the pandemic.

Do you know if British Airways have confirmed restarting their London - Austin route?
